Wellness Guide for the Modern Bride

Featuring Heather Tazza of A Beautiful Mind Wellness…

Can you tell me a little bit about yourself and your business?

- Namaste! I’m Heather, a certified yoga teacher and have my own private yoga biz called A Beautiful Mind Wellness. I teach private sessions, group classes, and events. For the mind, body, soul.

What are the benefits of meditation? Any tips for creating a space for meditation?

-Ultimately, meditation causes a shift in awareness. Mediation reduces mental and physical stress, improves emotional health, cognitive focus, and helps you to live in the present moment. It is an incredible tool to give you perspective and clarity on your internal issues, which ultimately affect your external world.

-‘Sacred Space’ is what we refer to in meditation. Creating that sacred space for yourself is so important. I would suggest choosing an area in your living space where there will be less distraction. Then you can add a meditation cushion, some crystals or candles, plants, music, whatever helps you calm. I personally meditate in silence on my porch every morning and use incense to get me in the mindset.

What are the benefits of yoga?

-Yoga is a form of moving meditation but mainly develops the breath and strength of the mind body connection. It helps you stay grounded, present and let out any negative or stuck energies. Scientific evidence says yoga also supports stress management, mental health, mindfulness, healthy eating, weight loss and quality sleep.

How can you connect yoga and meditation with the modern bride?

-Wedding planning can be a stressful time. Yoga and meditation are the perfect tools to help a bride stay calm and peaceful in the chaos. It can help lower her stress levels so that when the big day comes she is glowing from the inside out. Yoga and meditation will not only help a modern bride look and feel her best, but also stay present and enjoy this special time, focusing on celebrating the love that is happening rather than over-stress and forget the true meaning.

As a yoga teacher, what kind of classes do you teach?

-I teach a wide range of yoga classes including vinyasa, hatha, flow, ashtanga, yin, meditation, pranayama and more. I specialize in working one on one with private clients specific issues ranging from anxiety/depression, pregnancy, cancer, new to yoga, or for fun etc. In regard to weddings my favorite event to host is teaching a special yoga experience class for bachelorette parties or wedding weekends.

Any tips for wedding prep?

-Take up a daily yoga and meditation practice Now. Even if you can only start with a few minutes a day, prioritizing the time consistently will benefit all aspects of your life.

Don’t forget to Meditate the morning of your wedding! Meditation can really help you stay present and appreciate the day as it flows along. As well as stay calm if any obstacles arise. Take some deep breaths and smile :) Namaste
